I've been through this sauna previously, and I think I was set up. I went there around 12 AM last October 14, 2023. My friend and I went to JjimJBang Hotel Spa (near Malate Circle). I brought my bag and inside the bag had 4 cell phones, cash worth 340,000 pesos, a Dupont lighter, a Louis Vuitton long wallet, a Louis Vuitton bag, Fortuner car keys, and etc. My leg was hurt so after taking a quick shower, I decided to go to this sauna to have a massage with my friend. When I was about to go out and get my things from the locker, I was shocked to find out that my belongings were not there anymore. That’s when I knew that I was pickpocketed. It is said that a Malate sauna employee and the supervisor opened my locker. For me, it was 100% clear that this was a crime set up by the store's employees. Just because I'm Korean??? This is so unfair! I went there 2 or 3 times already to deal with the problem. But instead of resolving the issue, even after a week, there's no compensation and they just told me to wait. It's a situation where the promise keeps changing to solve the problem… From the sauna's perspective, after reviewing the CCTV, two individuals, a supervisor and an employee, opened my locker and even admitted that they caused damage. On October 16, I met with a lawyer. The establishment offered to pay me 500,000 pesos. Will first give me 300,000 pesos and after 15 days, the remaining 200,000 pesos. They initially said that they would offer compensation, but later changed their mind. There are two Korean shareholders in that sauna, and it has been revealed that the company's CEO is a Chinese man with the English Ssam. The Korean shareholders say that compensation is possible only after permission from the head of the Chinese headquarters. The locker room in the sauna cannot be opened in the store by anyone other than the user and it is illegal to open the door by other people. It makes me angry just thinking about how many times they have set up customers like this. Based on the CCTV, a Filipino wearing a white cap asked to open my locker, then the employee and the supervisor opened it for him. The employees say that there was a history of theft by a Filipino wearing a white cap also around August 10th to 12th, but I don't understand why the sauna accepted it again even though an incident occurred before already??? And I don't know what's true anymore. Most people just ignore it because it's annoying. I think he may have gone, but I can't get over this. Shouldn't places like that not be open for business? I'm posting this in the hope that no more victims will come forward. I will never remain silent…
