In 1814, Yakjeon heard that Yakyong would come to see him.

Since Yakjeon did not want  his brother to have to come a long way, he decided to move to Uido ,a neighboring island closer to the mainland.

The islanders were disappointed at the news.

Some of them  bagged him not to leave.

So yakjeon had to leave Heuksando at night, without saying good by to them.

Yakjeon waited for Yakyong in Uido for 2 years.

Unfortunately,however,he never saw his dear brother again because Yakyong was not  released.

Although yakjeon died lonely in 1816 after being in exile for 16 years, he is remembered  not only as a friend of common people but also as a great scientist.

 

요즈음 귀촌과 귀농에 관한 이야기가 많습니다.

귀양의 의미는 아니겠지요.

그러나 나의 입장에서는 그런 느낌도 들고 해서 한번 옴겨 봤습니다.

 

절박함

기다림

그리움

그런 처절함은 옛 귀양지에나 있었다고 생각했는데

열정과 사랑을 잃어버린 사람에게는 모든곳이 귀양지 인가 봅니다.
