NBI arrests Korean fugitive A South Korean national wanted in his country for extortion was arrested by the law enforcement authorities in Pasay City on Friday, May 8. Acting NBI Director Eric Distor identified the arrested fugitive as Kim Tae Young. He was apprehended in Pasay City by joint operatives of the NBI’s Special Action Unit (NBI-SAU) and the Bureau of Immigration’s Fugitive Search Unit (BI-FSU). Distor said that Young had two warrants of arrests in South Korea which were issued on December 2, 2016 and June 25, 2016 for multiple offenses including special extortion. The amount involved in such alleged offenses is an estimated at around 500 million won or P20.5 million.
