Kindly note the following steps in registering your child under your name: If the child is newly born, there are two options for the father to acknowledge the child if he is in South Korea. It depends which of the options the Local Civil Registrar (LCR) requires. The original draft birth certificates will be sent to the father abroad to sign the back portion of acknowledgement of paternity and have it notarized at the Notarial Section of the Philippine Embassy in Seoul. Said documents will be sent back to the Philippines to be submitted to the LCR. LCR will process the Legal Instrument or Certificate of Registration The father will execute an Affidavit of Acknowledgment of Paternity (Handwritten) at the Civil Registry Section of the Philippine Embassy in Seoul. Below are the requirements: Original and five (5) photocopies of father's passport with signature Five (5) photocopies of the child's draft birth certificate from the LCR ( scanned copy is acceptable) Fee/s: (cash only): KRW33,550 - Affidavit KRW33,550 - Certification Processing Time: 3 working days, for pick-up additional 1-3 working days, for delivery If the child is already registered at PSA and the father is in South Korea, below are the requirements for the Affidavit of Acknowledgement of Paternity: Original and five (5) photocopies of father's passport with signature Original and five (5) photocopies of the child's PSA birth certificate Fee/s: (cash only): KRW33,550 - Affidavit KRW33,550 - Certification Processing Time: 3 working days, for pick-up additional 1-3 working days, for delivery
