필리핀 주재 한국대사관은 어제 필리핀 당국에 한국인에 대한 살해범죄 상승에 우려를 표하고

들의 안전한 사업을 위해 다른 장소를 찿을것이라고 경고 했다. 또한 성명을 통해 필리핀에서

한국인 관광객이나 한국인 비지니스인을 상대로 저지른 범죄 상승빈도에 대한민국 대사관은

 

놀라지않을수 없다고 말했다. 지난 7월 27일 아내납치를 저지하다 숨진 한국기업인까지 올해

만 9번째로 한국인 사망이 늘어났고 지난 3월에는 필리핀에 유학 중이던 한국인 여대생 1명이 

 

납치돼 한달여만에 숨진 채 발견된 바 있다고 말하고 범죄 방지를 위해 법 집행기관이 특별조

치를 해야한다고 이혁 대사는 말했다.

 

  

Korean embassy airs alarm over crime-related deaths

 

 

The Korean embassy in Manila expressed alarm yesterday over the rising number 

of Koreans killed by criminals in the country since January.

 

Ambassador Hyuk Lee warned that Korean businessmen will avoid the Philippines

 

 

“The rising incidence of crimes committed against Koreans while in the Philippines 

either on vacation or on business is a trend that has alarmed the embassy 

of the Republic of Korea,” the embassy said in a statement.

 

Businessman Bae Minju was killed when his car was stolen by armed men last July 27. 

His wife was kidnapped but later released unharmed. 

The victims’ family driver was arrested in connection with the crime.

 

He was the ninth Korean reported killed 

in the Philippines since January, the embassy said.  

 

In March, 21-year-old college student Lee Ji Won was kidnapped and murdered 

by a taxi driver and other assailants.

 

 

Lee said specific measures should be adopted by law enforcement agencies t

o prevent cars and taxis from being used to commit crimes 

and Koreans from being targeted by kidnap and robbery gangs.
