발릭바얀 비자에 대하여

<p>발릭바얀은 필리핀 정부가 해외 근로자 등 자국의 경제에 도움을 주는 필리핀인을 위한 프로그램입니다.</p> <p>혜택으로는 여행세 면제, 1년간 비자 면제, 수화물의 면세 특혜 등등이 있습니다.</p> <p>대상자는 첫째 해외근로자</p> <p>둘째 1년이상 계속해서 해외에 거주하는 필리핀인</p> <p>세째 외국으로 귀화한 과거 필리핀 국적자입니다.</p> <p>각 대상자의 배우자와 자녀가 동반 입국할 때도 혜택을 받을 수 있지요.</p> <p>코필커플은 대부분 두번째 경우에 해당될 것입니다.</p> <p>많은 코필들이 필리핀에 거주하면서 발릭바얀을 받기 위해 와이프와 외국으로 잠시 나갔다가 다시 입국합니다.</p> <p>하지만 법적으로 따진다면 와이프가 1년이상 외국에 머물지 않았기에 발릭바얀 대상이 되지 않습니다.</p> <p>이민국에서 이사실을 알고도 그냥 묵인해 주는지 모르고 그러는지는 저도 궁금하네요.</p> <p>흔히 말하는 발릭바얀 비자는 비자가 아니고 비자 면제가 정확합니다.&nbsp;</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>What is the &ldquo;Balikbayan Program&rdquo; of the Philippines under Republic Act (RA) 6768?</p> <p>The Balikbayan Program of the Philippines was enacted in November 1989 to attract and encourage overseas Filipinos to visit the Philippines.</p> <p>The following categories of persons can avail of the Balikbayan privilege:</p> <p>(a) a Filipino citizen who has been continuously out of the Philippines for a period of at least one (1) year from the date of last departure;</p> <p>(b) a Filipino overseas worker (OFW);</p> <p>(c) a former Filipino citizen who had been naturalized in a foreign country and holds a foreign passport.</p> <p>A &lsquo;Balikbayan&rsquo; is entitled to the following benefits:</p> <p>(a) Travel Tax exemption</p> <p>(b) Visa-free entry to the Philippines for a period of one (1) year, for a foreign passport holder;</p> <p>(c) Duty-free shopping privilege of up to US$2,000.00 (US$1,000.00 as arriving Balikbayan and US$1,000.00 as arriving passenger) provided that: (i) Shopping must be done within two days upon arrival; (ii) Duty free shopping privilege can be availed of only one a year; and, (iii) Purchases must be made personally by the Balikbayan.</p> <p>The Balikbayan privilege is extendible to legitimate members of the family (i.e., spouse and children) of individuals in the above-mentioned categories, who are holders of foreign passports ONLY IF they are travelling to the Philippines together with the above-mentioned qualified individual.</p>
