What is the difference between Filipino and English?

Filipino and English are two separate languages. Filipino, also known as Tagalog, is the national language of the Philippines. It is a mix of native Filipino languages, Spanish due to the colonial history, and even some English. English, on the other hand, is a Germanic language primarily spoken in the United States, United Kingdom, Canada and other English speaking countries. However, English is also widely spoken in the Philippines due to the country's history as a U.S. territory and the continued use of English in government, education, print and broadcast media, and business. Filipino uses a phonetic alphabet whereas English does not, which means Filipino words are spelled as they are pronounced. On the other hand, English often has complicated spelling rules, with words often not being pronounced as they are spelled.
